Topic: Installation problem 1st screen!

When I try to install just this is displayed:

PHP CLASSIFIEDS INSTALL

step 1 step 2 step 3 step 4

I installed it on a different website and it worked fine...

what could be wrong..normally you get your options underneath this text.

I chmodded everything with help of the manual...what am I overlooking?

Re: Installation problem 1st screen!

yeah, the box that's normally displayed underneath the text that says: step 1 >> step 2 and so on isn't present!

My php seems to work fine on the server, in fact my ISP just checked it for me

Re: Installation problem 1st screen!

I am bumping this because after a couple of years I have run into the exact same problem.

Now it shows from step two:

PHP CLASSIFIEDS INSTALL

Step 1  >>  Step 2  >>  Step 3  >>  Step 4

Database Connection

This is all it shows. So I am not seeing the database results and I know the information I am using is correct.
But, it happens even when I do not enter any information and just click next.

I have tried anything from chmodding files and directories, using htaccess files and modifying my php.ini file.

What I noticed is that the script does work on a server with a different PHP version.

But I am not sure if this has anything to do with it. It's just this part that won't show.

Cheers

O, and I forgot how it was solved before sad

Re: Installation problem 1st screen!

I didn't understand what you guys want to do. Do you have problems with moving files to new server?

Re: Installation problem 1st screen!

No, this issue occurred when installing the script.

You get to see the following:

-------------------------------------
PHP CLASSIFIEDS INSTALL

Step 1  >>  Step 2  >>  Step 3  >>  Step 4
-------------------------------------

Normally, just below that, you get to see results...

The problem was that my browser page was blank below those lines.

I am not sure what solved it for me exactly, but I used a different php.ini file (one from a server where the script did work) and I had to install iconcube as well for it to work properly.

Re: Installation problem 1st screen!

Versions 7.2-7.3 are not encoded with ioncube. Is the script installed in spite of errors?

Re: Installation problem 1st screen!

But it's version 7.6 now...but this thread was started in 2007, so it could very well be the blank page issue hasn't got anything to do with the ioncube error I received after uploading the different php.ini.

Which after thinking about it isn't really an error anyway, it just mentioned I had no ioncube path in my php.ini smile

But to answer your question: I had no errors once the partly "blank page" issue was solved.
